BiosupportMD dietary supplements as adjuncts in venous, lymphatic care*

BiosupportMD is a nutraceutical company created by John Chuback, MD, FACS, RPVI, RVT, RPhS, and his business partners Christopher Tichio and Alexander von Summer in 2015. The company was the brainchild of Dr. Chuback, a board certified general and cardiovascular surgeon who has been specializing in the treatment of venous and lymphatic disorders for 15 years.

Dr. Chuback says he was motivated to create an affordable, high quality, micronized diosmin bioflavonoid after becoming convinced by decades of clinical studies that dietary supplementation played an important role in the management of chronic venous disease, lymphedema, lipedema and venous ulceration.*

“The key factor was that my patients couldn’t afford the micronized products that were on the market, and I was sure there was a better way,” said Dr. Chuback in a recent telephone interview. “After two years of research and development, Vein Formula was born. The response from the phlebology community, and the public at large, has been phenomenal,” he added. “We have had wonderful feedback from patients and physicians alike.”

“Since the launch of Vein Formula from BiosupportMD nearly three years ago, the reception has been so strong that we were inspired to create more evidence-based dietary supplements to assist practitioners and patients in additional areas of the venous and lymphatic field,” Dr. Chuback said. BiosupportMD now offers four bioflavonoid-based products.*

The original Vein Formula contains 667mg of micronized purified flavonoid (MPFF) complex blend. This is made up of 600mg Diosmin and 67mg Hesperidin. The other three products are Lymphatic Formula which includes selenium and Vitamin D in addition to 500mg MPFF, Wound Formula which includes Vitamins A, C, E, zinc and lycopene in addition to 500mg MPFF, and Hemorrhoid Formula, which includes 300mg of Horse Chestnut Seed Extract with 60mg Escin in addition to 500mg MPFF.

“It is essential the products contain micronized bioflavonoid to insure proper intestinal absorption,* the doctor pointed out. This is a highly technical, and costly, manufacturing process. Cheaper, non-micronized formulations found online and in health food stores will pass right through the GI system, and the patient’s money will be literally flushed down the drain.”

Dr. Chuback emphasizes that these dietary supplement products are meant to be used as adjuncts to conventional therapy such as interventional techniques, compression and wound care when indicated.

BiosupportMD products can be offered directly through the practitioner’s office or via prescription. To learn more about these dietary supplements which are manufactured in an FDA registered facility in the United States, please see biosupportmd.com. VTN
