The American Vein & Lymphatic Society, which earlier moved its 34th Annual Congress from November to October 15-18 at the Washington Hilton, has offered changes to its format to accommodate attendees who may not want to travel to a large meeting this year because of lingering effects from coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). In addition to its in-person Annual Congress, it will also be offered as a virtual meeting.
“COVID-19 is changing how we think about in-person events,” an AVLS spokesman said. “While live events will always have a place in providing education and in developing relationships, the value of virtual events is increasing considerably.”
The hybrid Congress registration will include admission to the live event in Washington D.C., live streams of the general session room, pre-recorded presentations across all sessions, an ap with an audience response system, post-presentation recordings available for purchase and access to a virtual digital exhibition platform.
